PORET Livelihoods is a branch of the grassroots development NGO: PORET directed by Julious Piti. It is based at Chaseyama, Chimanimani District, Zimbabwe and aims to encourage and inspire positive change within the region through teaching and demonstration of permaculture principles and techniques.

PORET Livelihoods incorporates three interlinked projects focusing on water, education and sustainable livelihoods. The core aim of the projects is to enable an equally distributed and district wide positive socio-ecological change.

Our holistic strategy is to facilitate the spread of sustainable and innovative practices and ideas that exist and are being developed at present within the region.  Through a two-way knowledge and skills exchange, these pre-existing practices and ideas, catalysed by Julious Piti, CELUCT and TSURO  will be augmented by our own concepts, grounded in our Global North education in Environmental Geoscience and Sustainable Development.

It is our ambition to demonstrate that sustainability and a high quality of life are interdependent and can be achieved hand in hand by all walks of life, everywhere.
